Village Green Family Restaurant in York

The restaurant had only 2 tables with couples. I walked in to see a waitress ignore me as I seated myself at a booth table. She definitely knew I was there because she was cleaning the booth behind mine. I sat in the restaurant 15 minutes and I never got approached or greeted with a menu.. horrible horrible service.. the waitress even watched me stand up to see if I could get service. After this I will let people know how bad the service is. And the place was not busy. I walked out the doors and the waitress didn't care...Worst restaurant! Be aware if you go..

Good, cheap diners for breakfast seem to be a dying breed, at least in York. Village Green is one of the survivors. It's reasonably priced with plenty of options. My health-conscious parents and super-picky kids all found something to eat. Service wasn't as fast or attentive as it could have been, but it was passable. There's basically no place to wait inside for a table, so if it's very crowded, you may want to look elsewhere.

The food was good and you can get breakfast all day

Great place for breakfast or grab a quick lunch or dinner.

The have the best patty melt and shoestring fries. Atmosphere typical of a diner/coffee shop.

Love the breakfast here! The service is always great and there's always hot coffee in my mug. 😊

I totally disagree!! Don't ever order the ham loaf. It's not suitable for animals let alone a human!!😵 Their services was terrible (they weren't busy) and they don't even try to please the customer. Whoever made the ham load doesn't know how to cook!! The cashier needs more training as well!!! I'd give it a minus star if it was available.

Not as good as it once was. Waitress was good. Food and kitchen service below average.

I really like their breakfast however I'd advise to eat in rather than Take It To Go because they have always screwed up our order. Food is good though.

Our most favorite place to eat Breakfast. We call it our Breakfast Spot lol. They also have many other Wonderful Delicious items to eat besides Breakfast. My Daughter and 3just cant get enough of there Pancakes Mmmm...

My family has been eating at The Village Green Family Resturaunt on a weekly basis for over 5 years. The staff are always friendly and personable and the food is excellent. It has a typical diner feel and climate with regulars and first timers treated all the same.

Consistently great food and spectacular service. Very friendly staff. We have breakfast here pretty much every Sunday.

When I eat here, it's usually breakfast. Not a bad breakfast at all. My friend likes grits and this is one place they can get them in place of potatoes. Fair prices for our area.

This was my first time here. I went through the wrong door coming in. The staff laughed and said that's okay. They had a nice selection of items to eat. I was there for a meeting, so I just had pie and water. The pie was great. The person who I was meeting eats there often. The prices weren't to bad. Very nice place.

My boyfriend and his entire family have been going here for years. And recently I've been going here. The staff is wonderful. They are fun to talk to, engaging, receptive. They really treat you as family. Their food is delicious, and they have excellent specials that change daily. I know I will be coming here for a very very long time.

A must visit for the east York area. The corned chip beef on toast, scrapple, omelets. Best coffee in the area. Always excellent service and excellent food.

The hostess and waitress we had are a couple of racists and the food was terrible and greasy. I was appalled by the service and quality of food.

Food was good except for the chicken strips had a completely different taste. My wife couldn't eat. Waitress was slow and it wasn't busy. After we were done eating the waitress keep giving us looks like. Why are you still here? And the place was empty

My daughter and I eat here often for lunch and dinner and we love it! Great homemade food at a reasonable price. I'm always happy with the service and the staff is very friendly and personable.

Went for texas hot wines and they were great. Service was great. Only drawback was group of customers that were loud.

Always good food and good service. They pre warn you if it's going to take a little longer due to how busy they are.

Me and my husband went to eat there was really really good.I had the cheese steak sandwich that comes with fries and he had a hamburger that also comes with fries. The portion was huge and was very delicious. The price of our meal was under 20.00 so for what we had was a great deal I will definitely be going back again

Mediocre, at best! It serves its purpose, as far as a place to eat. That's about it! The chicken rice soup, that I got with my meal was the best thing I ate. If you like cafeteria style food, or just want something to throw in your tank, eat here. Otherwise, move on. There are better diners to eat at, just a stone's throw away...

Service with a smile is unknown here. I felt as if I should be serving myself. It took way to long to receive the food but I have to say the rueben wasn’t to bad but the French fries were tasteless. If you don’t mind grumpy servers, come on down. But I won’t be.

My favorite is the Gyro Omelet..good food at a reasonable price..also good fast service.

My favorite breakfast item is a veggie omlet.I've probably eaten them at dozens and dozens of restaurants over the years. The best place to get them is Village Green Family restuarant. They are full of a great selection of properly cooked vegetables including an abundance of mushrooms.Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and efficient.You see many of the same customers each week and it feels like your typical home town restaurant.

Service is always good. Nice place for a quick, old fashioned diner kind-a meal. Old English burger was on point! Chili is good as well.

I love the breakfast foods at Village Green. I try to go there every Sunday. The staff there make you feel comfortable and satisfied.

Nothing wowed me. But nothing scared me away. Service was great. Value was ok. Need to add more lights. A little to dark on the inside.

The food was excellant and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and just made a person feel at home. The facilities could use an upgrade but not reason enough to stop in and enjoy a good meal with friends and family.

Ate here with my mom , we both enjoyed great service , great food a cool atmosphere and even chatted with the owner who's had it 30 years since it's creation. Highly recommended and really enjoyable dinner experience.
